Cambridge v Leeds: Visitors’ league priorities offer upset hope

The final match of this year’s Emirates FA Cup Third Round sees Cambridge United of League Two welcome Championship outfit Leeds United.
Barring a brief spell in the early 1980s, these two sides have never played in the same division, and have only ever met four times.
But while their isn’t much to go on in terms of history, the current form of these two clubs suggests a cracking cup tie awaits.
The U’s are on a sterling run in the fourth tier, rising up the rankings by winning six and drawing one of their last seven.
And Garry Monk is continuing to do a fine job of steadying the ship at Elland Road. The Whites have won four and drawn one of their last five.
They sit fifth in the table, with a very real chance of bagging a play-off spot, while automatic promotion into the Premier League can’t be ruled out yet either.
And it’s that fact which might offer the hosts a chance of a cup upset.
But given Leeds’ current success in the league, will that take priority over the potential distraction of a cup run?
Given the form of both sides, both teams to score looks assured at 4/5.
And so if you do fancy Monk’s men to avoid a banana skin, Leeds to win and both teams to score at 3/1 offers good value.
But we’ve already seen plenty of surprises in this weekend’s Emirates FA Cup Third Round, and we shouldn’t be surprised if we see another tonight.
