Who makes the cut in our Premier League Christmas XI?

Published:

Christmas is just around the corner, and we just couldn’t help ourselves. We had to compile a pun-related Premier League Ultimate XI players list to get into the festive spirit.

Love them or hate them, we’ve had a good go here…

GK – Ben Froster

It’s a simple choice for our number one spot. Ben Froster could certainly catch more than just a cold.

LB – Marcus Rojo-ho

A debatable pick for our team, given that it’s likely the Man United left-back is high on Mr Claus’ naughty list this year. But we reckon he’d keep his discipline in check for this fantasy festive XI.

RB – Hector Jingle-Bellerin

We don’t think there’s a better right-back in the division than the Arsenal man. So imagine our faces when we discovered his name fitted this theme perfectly!

CBs – Dasherley Williams & Scott Dancer

Not the most glamorous of partnerships, granted. But we want two names who are used to working alongside each other. Dasher and Dancer fit the bill, knowing their way around not only a football pitch, but the entire world. Hard-working, experienced, and great in the air, we couldn’t ask for a better pair.

CM – Granit Cracker

We couldn’t think of anyone better to be pulling the strings in the middle of the park than the Switzerland international. Not one to crack under pressure, he’s just what this line-up needs.

CM – Santa Cazorla

We just can’t have an Ultimate XI without including the big man himself. Santa continues to prove the pundits wrong. Year after year they question his age, his fitness and his ability to deliver the goods. But on he goes. A true gem in this team.

CM – Fabian D-Elf

But where would he be without his little helper, Fabian D-Elf? Santa may steal the limelight, but it’s this man who quietly goes about his business, all year round.

LW – Snowlito

Plenty of teams across the world would kill for a player like Snowlito, and we’re one of them. Granted, this isn’t his best time of the year – that tends to come around February time – but we’re putting our faith him, in the hope that he’ll repay us in the coming months.

RW – Nathan Rein-Dyer

We’re going for pace out wide, and Rein-Dyer certainly falls into that category. Like many of our players, he wouldn’t exactly set the world alight on his own, but he’s great as part of a team.

CF – Andy Carol

He may not feature in many starting line-ups these days, but we were all singing from the same hymn sheet in the Ladbrokes News office when it came to Andy Carol.

Songs of praise they were, too. We can’t get enough of him.

So that’s our team. Reckon you could name an XI that could take us on?
