Non-League sides backed to reach Emirates FA Cup Third Round
Published:The Second Round of the Emirates FA Cup takes place this weekend, and as official bookmaker of the FA, Ladbrokes have priced up a number of specials for the occasion.
With 12 Non-League sides in action this weekend, the bookies go 7/5 that over 3.5 of them reach the famous Third Round and a chance of a dream tie with the likes of Manchester United or Liverpool.
It’s 9/2 meanwhile that we see a bumper haul of at least seven Non-League outfits in the hat.
National League side Eastleigh are 5/2 favourites to be the last Non-League side standing in the competition, having already knocked out Swindon.
Halifax Town are 7/2 to be the Non-League’s longest survivors, with 5/1 saying Lincoln City achieve that role.
A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “40 teams are dreaming of an Emirates FA Cup Third Round date with the Premier League’s biggest, and we’re ready to go with a host of special markets.”
“Our traders are expecting more Cup magic this weekend, with 7/5 saying that we’ll be seeing at least four Non-League outfits in the hat for one of the greatest weekends of football come January.”
Macclesfield Town will hope to lead the charge of the Non-League outfits, when they host League One side Oxford United tonight.
The Silkmen are 17/4 to cause a memorable Cup upset at Moss Rose.
