Man City v Celtic: Comeback Kings can pull off an Etihad upset

At Fir Park on Saturday, Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic proved once again that they don’t know when they’re beaten, recovering from 2-0 and 3-2 down to beat Motherwell. And that skill and spirit stands them in good stead as they head to face a struggling Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola’s side have won just four of their last 13 games in all competitions, including a dismal 3-1 home defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.
With that loss marking the fourth time City have failed to win in five home games, it’s fair to say the Etihad is far from a fortress.
By contrast, the Hoops have enjoyed a perfect run of results domestically, with that stunning victory at Motherwell their 11th straight win in Scottish football.
Admittedly, facing the Citizens provides a tougher test of the Bhoys’ mettle, but they netted three times against the Sky Blues at Celtic Park and drew 1-1 away to German heavyweights Borussia Monchengladbach. So there’s reason to believe they can take something from this clash.
That argument is strengthened by the fact Celtic have goals all over the park. Eight different players have scored for the Glasgow giants during their last five games, meaning City’s leaky defence will struggle to contain all of their opponents’ attacking threats.
In the match betting, Celtic look the better priced for victory at 15/2, with Man City strong favourites with the bookies at 1/3. However, the 17/4 for the Hoops to record a third draw in the Champions League group stage looks the smartest bet in this market.
Elsewhere, the in-form Stuart Armstrong is great value to score anytime at 13/2, following three goals in his last eight games, while the 4/6 for Both Teams to Score looks like easy money considering they shared six goals last time out.
