How Twitter reacted to Chelsea putting Man City in their place
Published:Antonio Conte’s tactical masterclass helped Chelsea record a decisive victory over Manchester City and in turn cement his team’s lead at the top of the Premier League table.
The Pensioners saw off City 3-1 at the Etihad with the result itself just one of many headlines to emerge from a blood and thunder affair.
Gary Cahill’s own goal gave the hosts a first-half lead but Chelsea hit back with their blistering counter-attacks offering Diego Costa, Willian and Eden Hazard the opportunities to turn the game around.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the action, starting off with Michael Ballack’s mid-game celebrations…

Not everyone was happy though. City fans were livid with referee Anthony Taylor owing to a number of perceived injustices.
What exactly do the Chelsea defenders need to do for Anthony Taylor to give a penalty kick against them? #MCICHE

Anthony Taylor hand your notice in pal.

This has to be one of the worst & most one sided refereeing I think I’ve ever seen… #MCICHE #MCFC

Despite some questionable calls, you can’t argue with the fact that Conte’s Chelsea look very impressive.
No matter how much you hate #Chelsea you’ve got to admit that Conté’s Chelsea is the best of the blues. So tactically well versed. #MCICHE

Antonio Conte inherited a dead team, and has built them into monsters. Without any noise or any attack at fellow managers or referees!

Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa put in particularly eye-catching performances.
Assists this season:
Mesut Ozil: 1 in 13 games.
Cesc Fabregas: 2 in 145 minutes.#MCICHEhttps://t.co/4BOycae0ZA pic.twitter.com/WsXZBLjRRA— Telegraph Football (@TeleFootball) December 3, 2016
Costa back to his lethal best. Great goal scorers are worth their weight in coffee.

Costa’s been incredible today. Best striker in the League at the moment.

But there wasn’t much love for City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo. A few others copped it too.
Claudio Bravo is nowhere near as good as Joe Hart. Poor goal keeping for 2nd goal couldn’t even dive #MCICHE #ManCityvsChelsea #MCFCvCFC

Can’t finish chances. Not clinical all over. Full backs woeful. Otamendi woeful. Bravo not good enough. Referee was utter shambles.

Stones and Kolarov were both solid in the defence today. Otamendi, Bravo, Kun and De Bruyne were the ones that really let us down.
— Sigi (@Ketolablue) December 3, 2016
Not many people mentioning Otamendi’s role in Willians goal. Shocking defending. Not blaming Bravo but he got nowhere near either goal.

Sergio Aguero’s late sending-off for a horror challenge on David Luiz rules him out for four games while Fernandinho was also given his marching orders for an altercation with Cesc Fabregas. Not a good day for Pep Guardiola and team.
Aguero will now get a four match ban for his second red of the season. #MCFC

Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho misses Man City vs. Arsenal after receiving a red card in their game against Chelsea.

There you have it.
Chelsea go four points clear at the top of the league while City are left to lick some pretty big wounds.
