Emirates FA Cup Third Round: Preston land plum draw v Arsenal
Published:The draw has been made for the Third Round of this season’s Emirates FA Cup and as usual it’s thrown up plenty of exciting ties.
Former winners Steven Gerrard and Ian Wright were on hand at Wembley to release the balls and decide the fate of the 64 remaining teams.
With Premier League and Championship sides entering the competition at this stage there was plenty of interest in who the nation’s big hitters would face and we weren’t left disappointed.
One of League Two pair Newport County or Plymouth Argyle will face a tantalising trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool while Notts County or Peterborough will look forward to an away tie at Chelsea.
Elsewhere, Preston will host 12-time winners Arsenal and former Manchester United star Jaap Stam will take his Reading side to Old Trafford.
Second Round heroes Sutton United face a home tie against League One AFC Wimbledon and fellow National League side Barrow will entertain Rochdale.
