Clean Bandit look a shoo-in for coveted Christmas number 1 spot

Published:

Louis Tomlinson and Matt Terry both look set to miss out on this year’s Christmas number 1 spot, with Clean Bandit now huge favourites at 1/12 to spend yet another week at the top of the charts.

In fact, the One Direction star is a huge 33/1 shot, while this year’s X Factor winner’s odds are even longer at 50s, despite the pair currently sitting second and third in the charts respectively.

The drift on the latter will be a sore point for many, with Matt Terry the best-backed to claim the festive top spot.

However, one pair of plucky punters could be laughing come Christmas Day. Two of our customers stand to win £1,000 each after backing Clean Bandit at 50/1 back in November.

Meanwhile, even the second-favourites, The Dave Clark Five are some way off the market leaders at 12/1, while 16/1 says Rag n Bone Man pulls off an unlikely upset.

There’s pressure on Matt Terry’s shoulders though, given that seven of the previous 12 X Factor winners have Christmas number 1’s to their name.

However, at 50/1, it’s unlikely that this year’s champ will join that list.
