Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City eye January steal for Inter’s exiled star

Three of the Premier League’s title contenders could be set for a transfer battle in the coming weeks, with Inter Milan’s Gabriel Barbosa reportedly unhappy at the San Siro.

Barbosa, signed amid much fanfare by I Nerazzurri in the summer, has played just 16 minutes of Serie A football this season.

Nicknamed Gabigol, the 20-year-old Brazilian fired in over 55 goals in just three seasons for Santos, and seemingly every European club was courting the forward.

Inter won the race, but it appears player and club haven’t settled in well.

And comments from Gabigol’s agent have sparked speculation that a San Siro exit could be coming sooner rather than later, despite a contract running until 2021.

Speaking to Radio Bandeirantes in Brazil, Wagner Ribeiro said: “Gabriel is not happy at the moment.

“It’s not about dressing room issues with his team-mates, the problem is that he’s never had the chance to take to the pitch.”

“We want the issue resolved in January,” Ribeiro added.

Arsenal, Chelsea and both Manchester clubs were linked with the player previously, although City already have one Brazilian protege coming with Gabriel Jesus joining next month in a £30m deal.

But for the London duo and Manchester United, could the Gabigol news prove to be an early Christmas present?

Tipped as one of the next big things to come out of the greatest football nation on Earth, any chance to sign Gabriel Barbosa isn’t to be missed.
