Who is the world class striker Quinton Fortune wants Man United to sign?

January is right around the corner in football terms, and for many teams, it’s a chance to make amends for any early-season difficulties. Manchester United may well fall into that bracket, and according to their former midfielder Quinton Fortune, there’s one man the Red Devils should be chasing.

And that man is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Dortmund hotshot is enjoying another stellar season in the Bundesliga and a stunning four goal-haul against Hamburg at the weekend was the latest indicator of his immense talent.

Now on 11 league goals from just nine games, Aubameyang is the one Fortune wants to see at the Theatre of Dreams.

Speaking to club channel MUTV, Fortune said: “Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund, I like him.”

“Pace, scoring goals, that’s what we need. If we are going to bring someone in that can make a difference, he can make a difference.”

United already boast Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial as pacy attackers, but, with the pair 19 and 20 respectively, neither are the finished article just yet.

That’s not a problem for Aubameyang, who can also boast three Champions League goals from as many games this season for BvB.

The Gabon international has now hit a stunning 78 goals in 109 appearances for the German aces since the 2014-15 season.

That’s an incredible return for a man who doesn’t play for Barcelona or Real Madrid.

United have been linked with a move for some time, and after a ropey patch of form has left their Premier League top-four hopes in major doubt, they may now is the time to launch a bid.

It would come at a price though, with the Dortmund star under contract until 2020, and transfermarkt.co.uk slapping a £38m price tag on him.

But the 3-1 win at Swansea hinted at the potential between Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney. Throw Aubameyang into the mix and, wow.
