Who is the West Brom target currently scoring for fun in Belgium?
Exciting isn’t a word often used to describe Tony Pulis’ football teams. But if West Brom can land the top scorer in Belgium’s Jupiler League, things might just get a little more entertaining.
According to reports, the Baggies are rivalling German outfits Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund for Anderlecht hotshot Lukasz Teodorczyk.
The Poland international is leading the way in Belgium with nine goals from 12 games, and his form has sparked plenty of interest.
Teodorczyk is on-loan at Anderlecht from Dynamo Kiev, and with a transfermarkt.co.uk price tag of just £4.25m, could prove to be a January bargain.
The Baggies have netted just 10 times from as many Premier League games this term, and with almost half of those strikes coming in the win over West Ham, few would deny the Black Country outfit could do with a little more impetus up front.
Solomon Rondon top-scored for WBA with just nine goals last term, while five goals was enough to ensure Saido Berahino and Stephane Sessagnon shared the accolade in 2013-14.
Teodorczyk came to prominence after a 20-goal haul for backwards-dancing Lech Poznan in 2013-14, prompting Kiev to hand over £3.4m for his services that summer.
But after making only a handful of appearances in two seasons for the Ukrainian giants, it seems the 25-year-old’s loan to Anderlecht is a precursor to a permanent move away from Kiev.
At 6ft 1in, Teodorczyk could well suit Pulis’ style of football down to the ground, and 15 goals from 19 appearances in all competitions this season suggests the forward is bang on form.
West Brom will be hoping to enhance their goal tally this weekend when they head to Leicester.
The Baggies are 4/1 to inflict a first home defeat of the season upon the reigning Premier League champions.
