RB Leipzig boss new second-favourite for Arsenal job after Wenger

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is by far the longest-serving manager in the Premier League. But all good things must come to an end, and the Gunners board are reportedly weighing up a list of potential successors for when the Frenchman eventually calls it a day.
While Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe remains the 3/1 favourite for the Emirates role, there’s a new name who has entered the frame this morning. And he’s been immediately made the 8/1 second-favourite.
Something of a stranger to English football, Ralph Hasenhuttl has emerged as a shock contender for the Arsenal hotseat, despite only taking over at RB Leipzig in July.
But what an impact the 49-year-old has made at the Saxony outfit so far, with his side sitting three points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.
First-place in the league is a position Hasenhuttl is all too familiar with, having won the 2. Bundesliga with FC Ingolstadt 04 in the 2014-15 campaign, before leading them to a comfortable 11th-place finish in their first season in the top-flight last year.
And he’s not the only name from the Bundesliga currently in the market, with Carlo Ancelotti also featuring at 20/1.
But it’s Hoffenheim’s Julian Nagelsmann who might offer great value.
The 29-year-old German is tearing up the script in the league, and his side remain uneaten after 12 games, despite already facing the likes of Bayern, Borussia Monchengladbach and Schalke 04.
Meanwhile, Diego Simeone remains an outsider for the role at 12/1. The Argentine has already expressed his intention to leave Atletico Madrid at the end of next season, and that departure could come at the perfect time for the Gunners, who may well be waving goodbye to Wenger at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
