Max Verstappen odds-on to equal Ayrton Senna’s 3 World titles

It was a performance worthy of comparison with Formula One’s greats, and after his stirring drive in Brazil, Max Verstappen is odds-on at 4/5 to win at least three world titles.
That’s the same as Brazilian legend Ayrton Senna, whose wet-weather prowess Verstappen echoed during the final laps at Sao Paulo this weekend.
Just 19, the Red Bull ace is already a Grand Prix winner, coming home first in Spain, but it was his jaw-dropping skill this weekend which left few in any doubt how good he could become.
Our traders have priced up a range of specials for the seemingly unstoppable Dutchman, with Evens saying Verstappen matches the likes of Alain Prost and Sebastian Vettel with four or more world crowns.
It’s 5/2 the teenager equals only Juan Manuel Fangio and Michael Schumacher with five or more, with 10s saying Verstappen can hit seven or more.
A record-breaking eight titles is 16/1, and with the Dutchman some four years younger than Schumacher was when he won his first race, who can confidently say it won’t happen?
It’s seemingly inevitable at 4/6 that Verstappen becomes the sport’s youngest world champion.
Sebastian Vettel currently holds that honour at 23 years and 134 days, leaving Verstappen with four seasons to beat the German.
It’s 5/1 Verstappen gets that record next year by winning the 2017 championship.
And if the former Torro Rosso star can beat Schumacher’s record of titles, than why not the great German’s 91 Grands Prix wins too?
At 16/1, our traders certainly aren’t ruling it out.

Some would have backed him to reach 100 before his stunning show in Brazil, but now the world has seen the majestic potential of Max Verstappen, we can expect many more to back the Dutch star for a century of victories.
