Man United and Chelsea on alert after Griezmann drops hint

Antoine Griezmann has already stated he will consider his future at Atletico Madrid once head coach Diego Simeone departs, and the latest comments from the French international suggest we may well see him playing in the Premier League one day.

The French international has been linked with both Manchester United and Chelsea, with additional interest from French giants PSG.

But speaking to French outlet Telefoot, Griezmann suggests he won’t consider a move to his homeland.

He said: “PSG is an interesting project, but I don’t want to move to Ligue 1 now.

“I prefer to stay in La Liga, or the Premier League. If I had to leave La Liga today, it will be for England.”

That will be music to the ears of the United and Chelsea boardrooms, who each see Griezmann as one of the best players who may be available in the next couple of years.

But don’t expect the man named Player of the Tournament at Euro 2016 to appear in the Premier League just yet.

In the same interview, Griezmann expressed his satisfaction with life at Atletico.

However with the forward still only 25, United and Chelsea can afford to bide their time.

Griezmann has been in inspired form this season for Los Rojiblancos, with nine goals and six assists from 16 games across La Liga and the Champions League.
