Former West Ham boss the favourite for Crystal Palace post

The winter of discontent has started early at Crystal Palace, with the Eagles failing to pick up a single point since the end of September. That’s seen the pressure ramp up on boss Alan Pardew, with Sam Allardyce favourite to replace him in the Selhurst Park hotseat.

Now winless in six games, the Eagles lie just a point above the relegation zone, having shipped a dismal 12 goals in their last four outings.

With reports now emerging that Pardew will be sacked if Palace lose to Swansea City this weekend, the bookies make it 7/2 he’s the next Premier League manager to get the boot – while 8/11 says he fails to make it through the season.

Sam Allardyce has made a name for himself as a relegation specialist, having most recently guided Sunderland to improbable safety last season – and he’s the 7/2 favourite to take up the mantle at Selhurst Park.

Next up is Wales gaffer Chris Coleman at 5/1, with Nigel Pearson 8s for the Palace post and former Eagles boss Tony Pulis 10/1 for a return to south London.

And this weekend’s trip to the Liberty Stadium could be the final straw for the 55-year-old, with 6/4 for the Swans to enjoy victory, while 9/5 says the former Newcastle United boss buys some time with a vital win in south Wales.
