It’s being mentioned more and more, and reports today suggest once again that Barcelona are making the signing of Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho a very high-priority.

The Catalan giants have, like the rest of the football world, been stunned by the Brazilian’s performances for the Anfield club.

And the 24-year-old’s pivotal role in pushing Liverpool to top the Premier League table is the latest sign of his talent.

The reports will bring back familiar but unwanted memories for Reds faithful, who had to see Luis Suarez pack his bags for the Catalan giants in 2014.

Coutinho spent one and a half seasons playing alongside the Uruguayan in the famous red shirts, with the duo coming oh so close to Premier League glory in 2013-14.

Of further concern for Liverpool supporters is that it’s believed the forward’s friendship with international team-mate Neymar may also boost Barca’s chances too.

And it’s not just domestically where the former Inter Milan star has shone, hitting a wondrous effort for Brazil in their World Cup qualifier against rivals Argentina last night.

Lionel Messi was left watching on as Coutinho’s 25-yard belter hit the net, and he’ll probably head back to Barca with some very complimentary comments.

In short, Coutinho is probably wanted by all three of Nou Camp’s magical MSN trio.

The former Vasco Da Gama hero has hit five goals and five assists in just 11 Premier League games this term, striking up a fearsome relationship with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

And Liverpool fans will be crossing their fingers and toes that threesome can stick around a little longer.
