Burnley v Man City: Clarets must hope Turf Moor can inspire them again
The weekend’s Premier League action gets underway in Lancashire when Burnley host Manchester City. Pep Guardiola makes his first trip to Turf Moor and he’ll be wise to have done his research on the historic old ground.
The Clarets may have slumped to a 4-0 drubbing away at West Brom on Monday night, but on their home patch they’re a very different proposition.
Only Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea can boast as many home victories as Sean Dyche’s charges this season.
They’re 9/1 to win, but that’s a price which will tempt many, especially with City losing 1-0 on their last visit.
Liverpool’s sole defeat this season came here, while Arsenal only escaped with a 1-0 victory thanks to some a fortunate last-gasp bundle from Laurent Koscielny.
City are 3/10 favourites, and after a six-game winless run, now find themselves unbeaten in five.
But such is Burnley’s strength at home, there could be plenty of value to be had.
Yaya Toure marked his return to first-team action with a brace against Crystal Palace last week, and the former Barcelona man is 5/1 to score first once again.
And ahead of the game, we’re enhancing Man City to win and both teams to score from 6/4 to 2/1.
