X Factor: There’s value in the betting without Matt Terry market

Published:

With long-time favourite Matt Terry now as short as Evens to win this year’s X Factor, it’s time to start looking at where else the value lies in the competition. Our traders have already opened a Betting Without Matt Terry market, and Ladbrokes News has taken a look at who could be a great bet.

Essentially, in this market we’re looking at which act will finish as runner-up behind the 23-year-old. And it’s no surprise that 5 After Midnight are the Even-money favourites to do just that.

A group finishing in second-place is certainly not uncommon, and the trio would join he likes of G4, JLS and Reggie ‘n’ Bollie should they achieve such a position.

But behind Louis Walsh’s act, there’s a whole host of acts worth considering.

For starters, while Emily Middlemas (6/1) is yet to receive any negative criticism, the ever-growing fan base of Matt is difficult for any contestant to compete with, including the 18-year-old Scot.

But that’s not to say she can’t go far in the competition. After all, in terms of Twitter followers, only Matt has more than her of all the remaining contestants.

Elsewhere, Honey G could potentially become the second novelty act in as many years to finish as runner-up, with 7/1 saying she makes it to the final two.

In fact, according to our traders, the rapper has more chance of winning the show (14/1) than she does of being eliminated this weekend (16/1).
