X Factor: Favourite Matt Terry following Louisa’s winning path

Published:

While nine of the remaining 10 X Factor contestants continue to battle it out to simply stay in the competition, there’s one act who looks to be running away with it. And at 11/10, Matt Terry still offers punters great value for money.

Another solid week from the Bromley-born lad has forced our traders to slash his chances of winning from 6/4 prior to the weekend to almost even-money, and you can expect those odds to get shorter in the coming weeks.

Matt is following a similar pathway to last year’s winner, Louisa Johnson.

Like Louisa, from the minute Matt’s first audition was screened, he’s headed the market. And despite several other contestants challenging for the second-favourite spot, in truth nobody is coming close to Nicole Scherzinger’s top boy.

And similarly to Matt, last year’s champ’s odds fell to 11/10 after just two weeks of live performances.

We know what happened come the final night back in 2015. So will history repeat itself this year?

Meanwhile, Matt’s nearest rivals for the crown are 5 After Midnight who, at 3/1, impressed all four judges last weekend. But whether the trio can wow the panel on Divas Week next time out remains to be seen.

Another act we’re keeping our eye on is Honey G. Though Simon Cowell stood to applaud Harrow’s answer to Nicki Minaj on Motown night, we doubt he’ll be doing the same next Saturday.

With the theme for next weekend clearly favouring the female acts, it’s worth keeping your eye on Ryan Lawrie and his chances of surviving.

The Scottish contestant was one of the least voted-for acts last weekend, and we reckon there’s every chance of him featuring in the bottom two this week.
