Spurs good value to draw after falling behind in Leverkusen
Tottenham kick-off the double-header portion of their Champions League group campaign by travelling to a Bayer Leverkusen outfit that are unbeaten in their last 10 games at home.
Given the strength of Roger Schmidt’s men in front of their own fans, Spurs may not be eyeing a victory in Leverkusen, especially with the top and bottom of Group E separated by just three precarious points.
However, the BayArena club’s propensity to throw away leads means there’s a different bet our customers should be eyeing up.
In both of Leverkusen’s previous two Champions League games, they took the lead only to allow the opposition back in to seal a draw.
For the home game against CSKA Moscow to open the campaign the Germans let a 2-0 lead slip, so there is an obvious carrot for Ladbrokes customers in the form of a 6/1 bet that Spurs follow suit.
Adding yet more evidence to the case is the fact that Bayer have kept only two clean sheets all season, while Spurs have scored at least once in each of their previous 21 outings.
Elsewhere in the betting sphere is the 7/5 prospect that Javier Hernandez nets at any time for the home side.
The Mexican striker never managed to score against the Lilywhites in his Manchester United days, but is in form fine enough to change that having notched six of his current employers’ last eight goals.
