Odds slashed on Wayne Rooney making Inter Milan switch

Wayne Rooney could be swapping Manchester for Milan, according to the latest odds.

With speculation increasing over the future of the Man United captain, Inter Milan have emerged as a potential destination.

And our traders have been forced to more than halve the odds on Rooney heading to the San Siro, from 12/1 into just 5s.

LA Galaxy lead the betting at 7/2, with a return to boyhood club Everton next best at 9/2.

A move to Shanghai SIPG is a 6/1 shot, while New York Red Bulls are at 7/1.

Meanwhile, as talk of Rooney’s United exit grows, Laurent Blanc’s odds of replacing Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford have tumbled.

The former PSG boss is 7/1 to make United his next permanent position – in from 14s.

The 5/4 on a move to Inter however suggests Blanc could be Rooney’s boss in the near future.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “LA looked nail on earlier in the week, but the latest odds suggest Rooney could throw a curveball and opt to ditch Manchester for Milan.”

It remains to be seen whether Rooney can shake off a thigh injury for United’s Premier League tie with Burnley this weekend.

Odds of 1/5 on a United victory however suggest the Red Devils will be picking up three points with or without their captain.
