Odds cut on Sergio Ramos joining Chelsea by next summer

Published:

Sergio Ramos may be on his way to Chelsea by the end of next summer, according to the latest odds.

Blues boss Antonio Conte is eagerly seeking a defensive fix and the Real Madrid skipper’s odds have been cut from 5/1 to 7/2 to make the move to London by September 2017.

It’s 8/1 that Conte simply can’t wait any longer and welcomes Ramos to Stamford Bridge this January.

Reports in Spain suggest that Madrid president Florentino Perez is increasingly coming round to the idea of allowing the club captain to leave.

Ramos came close to joining Manchester United in 2015, and a less than stellar start to this campaign hasn’t done much to silence the rumour mill.

We’re also offering 5/1 that Ramos does eventually arrive at Old Trafford, this time teaming up with former boss Jose Mourinho, while Arsenal and Liverpool are 10/1 apiece to snap up the Spanish international.

A switch to Real’s rivals Barcelona however, can all but be ruled out at 50s.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “It’s no secret Conte wants to shore up the Blues’ backline and it looks like he’s found the answer to his problems.

“The only question is whether the Italian will move sooner or later to bring Ramos to the Bridge.”
