No holds barred from Trump but little gained according to bookies

Donald Trump threatened to hold nothing back during the second US Presidential debate, and the Republican candidate did exactly that last night by launching a series of stinging blows on Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.
Trump went all out against Clinton and her husband Bill, while defending his alleged remarks over women.
While the Grand Old Party nominee may have shaded the highly tempered debate on the night, it’s done little to improve his chances according to the bookies.
Clinton is still 2/7 favourite to replace Barack Obama in the White House, while Trump – who has seen a sizeable number of Republicans publicly deny their support for their party’s nominee – is 11/4.
Indeed, since last week the real estate mogul’s odds have drifted from 2/1, following the leak of video footage purporting to show Trump boasting about groping women.
It was that video which sparked the Republican exodus, and in some ways, left Sunday’s second debate as a damage limitation exercise for Trump.
If that was the aim, then the New Yorker succeeded with a succession of barbs about Clinton’s husband and Hillary’s private email investigation.
He even threatened to put the Democratic nominee in jail over the issue.
However, as the dust settled last night at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, early polls suggested Clinton won the debate.
A CNN poll showed 57 per cent thought the former Secretary of State bested the second confrontation, while a YouGov poll had Clinton at 47 per cent and Trump at 42.
The final debate will take place on October 19 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Nevada is one of a number of swing states which both candidates will be going all out to impress.
But having gone all guns blazing this weekend while also seeing a huge blow to his hopes from Friday’s video leak, where does Trump go from here?
