Lyon’s new star tips up Arsenal as next potential destination

It may only be early October, but you can rest assured Premier League boardrooms are planning their options for the January and off-season transfer windows. For Arsenal, one player may have openly walked onto their radar.
That man is Lyon ace Corentin Tollisco and the 22-year-old is quickly becoming one of the French side’s major assets.
The midfielder broke into the Lyon senior team three years ago, and has grown in stature ever since, missing just five league games since the start of the 2014-15 campaign.
Tolisso has made over 120 appearances in all competitions for Les Gones including 16 goals and 10 assists in 93 Ligue 1 games.
A number of Europe’s biggest clubs chased his signature in the summer, and though a move to Napoli came close, the Frenchman is staying put, for now.
Speaking to France Football, the French U21 international is quoted saying: “Many clubs make me dream like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and England with teams like Arsenal.”
Tolisso added: “I like the Premier League and I think I am well suited to it. It is the league that offers the most competition, it is the most open, the most hard-fought and the most spectacular.”
So it’s clear the midfield ace is plenty aware of what he would be letting himself for should a move to the Emirates come around.
Napoli were believed to have set aside over £30m for the Tarare native, so should Arsene Wenger decide to make a move, that’s the sort of figure we would likely be hearing about.
While he is seemingly open to a move later in his career, Tolisso’s loyalty for sticking around this summer has been rewarded, with Les Gones boss Bruno Genesio handing him the captain’s armband for the club’s last four league games.
Arsenal are certainly not lacking in the midfield department, counting Francis Coquelin, Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey, Granit Xhaka, Mohamed Elneny and Jack Wilshere on their books.
But it will be pleasing for the Gunners to hear that such sought-after talent would evidently be keen on a move.
The north London side have won five Premier League games on the spin, and will bid to make that six following the international break when Swansea head to the capital.
It’s 1/4 Wenger leads his side to yet another three points.
