Inverness CT boss Richie Foran wins Ladbrokes Premiership prize

Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Richie Foran has been named the Ladbrokes Premiership Manager of the Month for September.

The rookie boss swapped his boots for a suit in the summer, after seven seasons banging in the goals for the Highland club, and the 36-year-old has adapted superbly to life in the dugout.

His side faced an imposing set of fixtures in September, including a first meeting with Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic and a visit to Pittodrie, but passed the test with flying colours, picking up five points from three games and ending the month unbeaten.

The heroic Highlanders ended a series of impressive runs along the way.

Celtic’s seven-game winning streak in Scottish football came to a halt with their 2-2 draw at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium, while they also became the first team in 28 games to net twice against Dundee in the opening half-hour, en route to a 3-1 victory.

But the modest Foran was keen to deflect the praise onto his players when he spoke exclusively to Ladbrokes News.

“I believe in the players we have at this club, and I changed the shape of the team a touch and the players turned things around”, Foran told us.

He added: “Going to Pittodrie and getting a point was satisfying, and becoming the only team to take a point against Celtic was a real achievement. It’s very pleasing and gives my players plenty of confidence going forward.”

Next up for Inverness is the visit of Rangers on Friday night, with 13/5 for the Caley Jags to continue their fine form by beating the Gers for the second time in three meetings.
