Fantasy Football: Three cheap midfielders in red-hot scoring form
By scoring four times in the first six games of this season, Watford midfielder Etienne Capoue started a trend for low-cost Fantasy Football midfielders going on goal-scoring streaks.
The former Tottenham man has since cooled his heels with a strike-less span of three outings, but there are three other affordable options lurking around the Premier League for those who want to jump ship:
Joe Allen, Stoke – £4.9m
After bagging a brace against Sunderland last time out, Allen has now scored in four games in a row for club and country.
Given a box-to-box role by Mark Hughes that allows him to push on into the opposition penalty area, Allen is displaying a streak in front of goal that Fantasy managers are only just catching on to.
At less than £5m and with a trip to Hull next up, now is the perfect time to get Allen on board.
Nacer Chadli, West Brom – £6.5m
Signing Chadli will be a good deal more expensive than Allen, but the Belgian is in no worse form having scored four goals in five games since moving to West Brom from Tottenham.
Liverpool, Man City and Leicester are the Baggies’ next three fixtures, so Chadli will be up against it in the coming weeks, but after that the Belgian will get to feast on Burnley, Hull and Watford.
Junior Stanislas, Bournemouth – £5.5m
The brace Stanislas slotted away against Hull last week means the winger has now equalled his Premier League tally of three goals from last season in just five appearances this term.
After facing Spurs this week, the Cherries play Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Stoke to play in consecutive assignments so there’s reason to believe the 26-year-old is one to have on board early.
