Danny Mac the big winner as Will Young quits Strictly

Danny Mac - Strictly Come Dancing

Soap star Danny Mac has shortened up to win this year’s edition of Strictly Come Dancing as the fall-out from Will Young’s ballroom exit continues.

Following the news of the Pop Idol singer’s departure, we’ve cut the odds on Danny winning the show with the early market leader now just 6/4 to take home the Glitterball trophy.

Will had been the 8/1 fourth favourite to emerge victorious with punters piling in before his hasty withdrawal from the 2016 series.

Louise Redknapp is next bet in the betting at 4/1 with Olympic duo Claudia Fragapane and Greg Rutherford also vying for a position on the podium.

David Williams of Ladbrokes said: “Danny Mac is unlikely to be shedding any tears about Will Young’s departure.

“Louise is his big rival but with one more bloke out of the show, Danny Mac’s chances of winning the show are better than ever.”
