Conte must fight Liverpool and Man United for PSG’s star centre-half

It’s no secret that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is dissatisfied with the defensive options at his disposal and with that in mind, Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe is the Italian’s latest target, although Liverpool may have something to say about it.
After trying to failing to land a number of centre-backs in the summer, Conte has had to make do with Gary Cahill and David Luiz.
Conte doesn’t seem particularly happy with either, and the Italian looks set to make a move for at least one defender in January.
That could be PSG’s Kimpembe, who has being increasingly viewed as one of the stars of tomorrow.
The 21-year-old French U21 international broke into the PSG side in the 2014-15 campaign, and followed that up with nine appearances last term.
But it’s this season where Kimpembe has really come into his own under new boss Unai Emery.
Kimpembe has started seven of Les Parisien’s nine Ligue 1 games this season, helping the reigning champions to five wins and four clean sheets.
Only Nice have conceded fewer than the capital club’s seven goals.
But if Conte believes the highly-sought after youngster is the solution to his problems, he will have to fend off rival attention.
Both Liverpool and Manchester United are also believed to be interesting in signing Kimpembe, whose contract runs out in 2018 and whose current value on transfermarkt.co.uk is a little over £1m.
That will all change if PSG and their star talent can agree on a new deal, something which has reportedly been offered to the defender.
However, the hope for Premier League sides is that talks may have broken down over wages.
