Ballydoyle and Frankie feature in the best bets on Channel 4

Ryder Cup coverage threatens to block out all other sports over the weekend, but there’s Group-level action and valuable handicaps taking place across the UK as the Flat campaign slowly winds down.
We’ve run the rule over the featured Channel 4 races to bring you a diverse trio of tips:
The Sun Chariot Stakes has been a fancied-horses’ haven over the past half-decade, with the favourite/co-fav landing this Group 1 mile in four of the last five years.
Aidan O’Brien’s 1000 Guineas third can have bad days, finishing eighth behind a couple of these when 15/8 favourite in a Group 1 at Deauville at the end of July, but bounced back to reverse form with winner Qemah at Leopardstown three weeks ago.
She’s likely to go off heavy favourite here and looks poised to strike under Ryan Moore.
At the scene of his ‘Magnificent 7’ triumph 20 years ago, Frankie Dettori’s best chance of success looks to be aboard John Gosden’s Shalaa – winner of his past five races – at 15.05, but the duo also have a hope in the Cumberland Lodge Stakes.
Only one winner in the last decade has lugged round as much as the 9-4 Michael Stoute’s jolly Arab Spring has been lumbered with, and while Western Hymn is currently on an eight-race losing streak, the son of High Chaparral could hardly have been in more exalted company recently.
Dettori’s mount has beaten the likes of Postponed, Snow Sky and Arab Spring in the past, so back class to win out in Berkshire.
There’s not exactly a wealth of form to go on in this two-year-old dash, with Henry Spiller’s outsider Melissa Jane set for just her third start and six others with fewer than five runs in their back catalogues.
Four horses have taken this at odds of 10/1 or greater over the past decade, two of them going off at twice that price at least, so searching for value here may not be in vain.
Stalls 12-17 have provided six winners since 2006, and Richard Fahey’s gelding has been laden with a weight close to what tends to take this, so Abiento (Stall 12) looks in with a fair shout after breaking his duck last time out at Chepstow.
