Arsenal favourites as odds slashed on Simeone taking Prem job

Diego Simeone has fanned the flames by marking the Premier League as his dream destination, and the bookies think there’s a good chance he’ll head here sooner rather than later.

Odds of the fiery Argentine taking a managerial post in the Prem by the end of 2017 have been cut significantly from 11/4 to just 6/4, with a host of clubs on these shores desperate to snap up the La Liga-winning gaffer.

Arsenal are the 5/1 favourites to be his next club, with Chelsea at 8s and Manchester United 9/1 to ditch Mourinho for the Madrid maestro.

However, they could face competition from Bundesliga big dogs Bayern Munich at 6/1.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “Simeone is ready for his big break in England, and Arsenal have pushed their way to the front of the pack to snap up the La Liga legend.”

The competition for his signature could yet grow fiercer, with Atletico unbeaten and top of La Liga, having conceded just three times in their opening eight games.

Simeone’s men head to Sevilla this weekend as 19/20 favourites for victory, but having shipped just one goal in their last five in all competitions, it’s the 9/4 for Los Colchoneros to win to nil which looks the most appealing bet.
