X Factor: Where has the money gone so far in this year’s series?

Published:

The X Factor is back! After what felt like an eternity, Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne finally returned to our screens last weekend as they began their search for the next big popstar.

And just two episodes in, we already have a clear early favourite in Caitlyn Vanbeck, who is just 11/2 to win the show.

The 18-year-old has seen 16 per cent of all bets taken this series placed on her, but perhaps an even more surprising statistic is that a sizeable 25.8 per cent of all stakes have gone on the girl from Scotland so far.

Elsewhere, singer-songwriter Christian Burrows is joint-second favourite in the market with X Factor returnee Emily Middlemas at 10/1, although the total amount staked on Christian is almost three times more than that of Emily.

Both Luis Elkes and Eddie Lee are considered to have no chance of going the distance in this year’s show – with the pair being priced at 200/1, having seen just six people back them for the crown, while Honey G is currently 100/1 – a price which is likely to fall drastically should the 35–year-old make the live shows as this year’s novelty act.

So have we already seen this year’s winner, or are we still waiting for him/her/them to grace our screens?
