Steve McClaren and Chris Powell head the betting for Derby job

Former England manager Steve McClaren and current Derby caretaker Chris Powell are the early favourites to replace Nigel Pearson at the Championship club.
The Rams suspended Pearson just hours before their clash with Cardiff City last night, with Powell overseeing a 2-0 win in the Welsh capital.
Powell is to stay in charge for Derby’s trip to Reading on Saturday, and the ex-Charlton boss is 2/1 second-favourite to be handed the job on a permanent basis.
But it’s ex-England boss McClaren who is currently the bookies slight favourite, with 7/4 saying he makes a return to the Rams.
McClaren enjoyed a two-year spell with the east Midlands side between 2013 and 2015, racking up 51 wins from 95 matches in charge and is currently available after leaving Newcastle in March.
Another available English manager is Steve Bruce, who is next in the betting at 5/1.
After leaving Hull in the summer, Bruce still hasn’t been ruled out of a return to the Tigers, who are yet to appoint a permanent successor.
Gary Rowett is 10/1 to quit Birmingham for the Rams, but it remains to be seen whether the former defender would be willing to give up a good thing with the Blues to return to the club he made over 100 appearances for in the 1990s.
Former Scotland boss Alex McLeish is a 12/1 shot, but Derby fans may not be to keen on welcoming a previous Nottingham Forest manager to the club.
Glenn Hoddle is deemed something of an outsider at 16/1, while Billy Davies – formerly boss of Derby and Forest – is also a 16/1 chance.
