Stage set for Hull’s nemesis to mark Arsenal return with a goal

After starring for Wales en route to Euro 2016’s semi-finals over the summer, Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey managed just over an hour of the Gunners’ first game of the 2016/17 campaign – a 4-3 loss at home to Liverpool- before succumbing to a hamstring injury.
Having missed his country’s last-four defeat to eventual European champions Portugal through suspension, sitting on the sidelines during Arsenal’s past four fixtures, as well as Wales’ 4-0 World Cup 2018 qualifying win over Moldova, can’t have been much fun.
Luckily for the man they affectionately call ‘Rambo’ in the red half of north London, happier days appear to be right around the corner.
Ramsey is due back to face Hull at the KCOM Stadium with Arsenal hot favourites at 4/7 to see off a side currently level with the Gunners on seven points from four games.
He could hardly have hoped for better opponents based on past form, with the 25-year-old scoring in each of his last three starts against the Tigers.
In the closing weeks of the 2013/14 season, Ramsey notched in consecutive games against the Humberside outfit separated by less than a month, most notably after 108 minutes of the FA Cup final that May, a match Arsenal trailed in for 67 minutes.
His other effort came just under 12 months later in a 3-1 away win, meaning Ramsey has a goal-per-game record for Arsenal on the road against Hull in the Premier League.
The Caerphilly native is 7/1 to bag the opener up north, as he did in a 3-0 Arsenal triumph two-and-a-half years ago, but with Ramsey only likely to make the bench following his latest injury struggles, 11/5 about him scoring at any time looks the better bet.
Going by that train of thought, nobody should be put off backing the former Cardiff City man to score the last goal at 7/1 either.
