Man United v Leicester: Back Swede to be Foxes’ tormentor again

Published:

September could have been the cruelest month for Jose Mourinho, with Manchester United losing three successive games – but victory at Northampton Town will have boosted the morale of a side packed with talent, ahead of their meeting with Leicester City.

The Foxes have had a mixed start to the season, with their last four games producing a pair of 3-0 wins, as well as heavy defeats to Liverpool and Chelsea.

More importantly, they’ve struggled on the road of late, taking just two points from their last four Premier League away days, and their opponents are unlikely to be forgiving, with United having won nine of their last 13 at Old Trafford.

One man battling hard to maintain the Red Devils’ good home form is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with the former PSG striker having netted United’s last three home goals, as well as a smart header away at Bournemouth last month.

His first goal for the North-West giants came against Leicester, that being the winner in the Community Shield.

While the 6/5 for Ibrahimovic to net anytime looks like good value, the best bet could be on the enigmatic striker to score the game’s last goal at 4/1, having already netted the final goal in three games this season.

One thing we can be sure of is goals. Both teams have scored in each of the last five meetings between these two, so there could be plenty of value in United to win and both teams to score at 5/2, while it’s 21/10 the game produces over 3.5 goals.

In the match betting, United are understandable favourites at 8/11, while the Foxes are 4/1 for victory and the draw is priced at 29/10.
