Ladbrokes Premiership: Get on Rangers man to net in victory

Published:

It was a case of home comforts in the Ladbrokes Premiership last weekend, with all six hosts going unbeaten.

Celtic chalked up a 6-1 victory over Kilmarnock, Aberdeen snuck past Rangers and Inverness Caledonian Thistle defeated Dundee, with three draws elsewhere.

The action kicks off again as Heart of Midlothian head to North Lanarkshire looking to bag their first victory in three games. So, starting with their visit to Motherwell, here are our top bets for the weekend’s action…

Motherwell v Hearts

Hearts arrive at Fir Park without a goal in the past two games, but they’ve only conceded once in their last three away games.

They head to a Motherwell side who have conceded just four goals in as many games, but have failed to shine at the other end – the 4-2 victory over Hamilton Academical aside.

Of the last 20 meetings between this pair, over half have produced two goals or fewer, while just a solitary Lionel Ainsworth strike separated the pair in April.

Best Bet: Under 2.5 Goals @ 10/11

Dundee v Celtic

The Dee defence are in for a tough afternoon tomorrow against a Celtic side who have won all six of their Ladbrokes Premiership games, netting a mammoth 23 goals in the process.

The Parkhead side notched up 5-0 and 6-0 wins over Dundee in 2015, and while they might not quite match that margin of victory this weekend, they’re sure to net several, with 14/1 for the Hoops to triumph 4-1.

Best Bet: Celtic to win 4-1 @ 14/1

Rangers v Partick Thistle

The Gers have quite some home record against Thistle, chalking up eight wins and two draws in the last 10 meetings at Ibrox. And Mark Warburton’s men are unlikely to find much resistance from bottom-of-the-league Thistle.

Especially so when Rangers have a striker in the form Martyn Waghorn finds himself in. Eight goals in all competitions so far this season is impressive stuff, and while the bigger part of those has come in the League Cup, expect the 26-year-old to boost his Ladbrokes Premiership tally here.

Best Bet: Waghorn to score and Rangers to win @ 6/5

Hamilton v Inverness CT

Inverness head to New Douglas Park on the back of eight points from their last four games, and face an Accies side who can’t seem to hold onto a lead this season.

Martin Canning’s men have thrown away 12 points from winning positions in the league this season, with the 3-1 defeat at Hearts the second time they’ve led and lost during the campaign.

With seven of the Caley Jags’ 11 goals having come after half-time, backing them to trail and win looks like a great value bet.

Best Bet: Inverness to come from behind and win @ 11/1

Kilmarnock v Aberdeen

The Dons have won an incredible 10 in a row against Kilmarnock, and all the signs point to tomorrow’s encounter being number 11.

Derek Mcinnes’ side have won their last three in all competitions, while Killie haven’t tasted victory since the middle of August.

However, the hosts have got on the scoreboard in their last four games, meaning that while Aberdeen should secure the points, they won’t have it all their own way.

Best Bet: Aberdeen to win and BTTS @ 5/2

Ross County v St Johnstone

Two wins and a draw for Tommy Wright’s men on the road this season have seen Saints establish a top-four spot, and this weekend they’re back on their travels to face a Ross County side who haven’t scored in the past two games.

The visitors won on their last two visit to the Global Energy Stadium, and with County winless in four, the visitors should be backed to win again in the Highlands.

Best Bet: St Johnstone to win @ 9/5
