How Twitter reacted to Man Utd’s crisis-crushing Leicester rout

Nothing exposes the ridiculousness of trying to portray a team that have won three of their first five Premier League games as being in crisis more than when they stroll into a 4-0 half-time lead against the champions in match six.

How did Twitter react to a result that not only suggested that talk of Jose Mourinho not seeing out his debut campaign at Manchester United was hasty, but that there is just as much chance of it ending with silverware. Let’s explore.

Much of the focus was on Paul Pogba’s performance, described by Gary Neville as his best yet for the club:

Pogba meanwhile had a pretty mature but powerful message for his premature critics:

Though Pogba got the Sky Sports man-of-the-match award, there was another stellar contender:

Opinion was also divided as to whether this result proved Mourinho’s detractors wrong, or if in fact it was because of the negative feedback that they rallied:

Some Chelsea fans are hopeful that, fresh from taking their title, Leicester will now replace them as the worst defending champions too:

Things were so bad that Claudio Ranieri decided to take off Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez at half time with the scoreline 4-0. Foxes fan Gary Lineker approved of this move:
