Feyenoord v Man United: Red Devils’ old nemesis to do the damage

Published:

Manchester United are set for another difficult night against Dutch opposition as they visit a Feyenoord side in sensational form, and boasting a striker with an outstanding record against the Red Devils.

The Rotterdam outfit have begun the Eredivisie campaign with five wins in as many games, notching up 15 goals along the way. So they’re heading into this one high on confidence, while the visitors will struggle to bounce back after being run ragged in a 2-1 home defeat to rivals Manchester City.

Jose Mourinho’s men will also be up against a familiar foe in the form of Dirk Kuyt, with the veteran winger enjoying arguably the finest form of his career at De Kuip.

Having netted four times against United during his Anfield days, the 36-year-old is well worth backing to net here. He’s opened the scoring in nine games since the beginning of last season, so the 7/1 for Kuyt to score first looks like the best value bet.

With United managing just two wins in their last ten European games, compared to Feyenoord’s three from five, the Dutch side are also the ones to back in the match betting at 3/1, with Man United 17/20 and 13/5 for the draw.

However, with De Stadionclub having conceded a single goal in five of their last seven home wins, backing a Feyenoord with and both teams to score at 13/2 could be an even better call.
