Celtic v Man City: Citizens to edge Hoops in exciting UCL encounter

Published:

There’s no question that Celtic are much improved this season, with the likes of Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele in superb form.

But despite their dominance in the Ladbrokes Premiership, visitors Manchester City are one of the best sides in Europe right now and look likely to take all three points tonight.

Pep Guardiola’s side have won all 10 of their competitive games this season, and they thumped Borussia Monchengladbach 4-0 at the Etihad on matchday one in the Champions League group stage.

And this is a competition where they have serious pedigree in recent years, with nine wins and three draws from their last 14 UCL games – knocking out PSG to reach the semi-finals last season.

For Celtic’s part, they’ve won nine on the bounce at Parkhead, netting a humongous 40 goals in that time. That points to Brendan Rodgers’ men netting against a side who’ve kept just one clean sheet in their last nine on the road.

It’s 13/8 for Man City to win and both teams to score, while the 8/11 for both sides to simply find the net looks like easy money.

And while Sergio Aguero could well be one of the goalscorers tonight, we reckon the best player bets are on Nolito to score and Man City to win (13/10) and Scott Sinclair netting anytime (15/4) following his run of scoring in six successive league games.

In the match betting, Celtic are 8/1 shots to pull off a memorable European upset, with City 7/20 for victory and the draw on at 9/2.
