Amazing record shows Man United can bounce back at Watford

Manchester United may have suffered an unfortunate defeat at Feyenoord in the Europa League on Thursday night, but their record against Watford suggests that Jose Mourinho’s men will return to winning ways at Vicarage Road.

The Red Devils have won the last ten meetings between these two sides, netting 26 times and conceding just seven in that period. Indeed, the Hornets have only ever beaten the North-West giants once, way back in 1986.

And despite a minor blip in the past week, United have generally been good travellers, winning five of their last six domestic away games, while the Hornets have hardly been buzzing on their home patch.

Walter Mazzarri’s side have won none of their last four on home soil, a run which has included an embarrassing League Cup exit to League One outfit Gillingham.

Interestingly, the Hornets led against both the Gills and Chelsea, who won 2-1 at Vicarage Road on August 20. That means there could be plenty of value in backing United to come from behind and win at 9/1.

In the match betting, the visitors look the best selection at 3/5 for victory, with 5/1 for a Watford win and 31/10 for the draw.

However, with six of the last seven clashes between this pair producing three or more goals, the best odds-on selection looks to be over 2.5 goals at the price of 17/20.
