West Ham boss Bilic could be set to reunite with ex-Man City hitman

Exciting times lie ahead for West Ham United supporters, with their move to the Olympic Stadium and a Europa League campaign already underway. And things could be set to get even better, with the club linked with a move for talented striker Felipe Caicedo.

The 27-year-old spent three years at Manchester City from 2008-11, but it’s in La Liga where his career has blossomed.

Having netted 22 times since joining Espanyol in 2014, as well as scoring four times in as many games for national side Ecuador as they bid to reach the world cup in Russia, the former Sky Blues’ man has.caught the eye of several English clubs.

Everton and Newcastle United both showed interest in January, but Bilic may have what it takes to finally tempt the physical striker back to the Premier League.

Having played under the Croatian gaffer at Lokomotiv Moscow back in the 2012-13 season, netting six times, there’s every reason to believe the pair could be reunited, especially with the Hammers offering the chance of European football – a contrast to Espanyol, who haven’t qualified for continental competition since 2006-07.

And while the Hammers impressed in the Premier League last season, their strike force was something of a letdown, with Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia scoring just five and four times respectively.

That means extra firepower from a player with experience of English football could  greatly boost the Irons’ chances of success this season, if this move takes place. And the signing of Andre Ayew shows the Hammers boss is keen on revamping his front line.

West Ham begin the season with a trip to Chelsea, with 9/2 for Bilic’s men to enjoy a first win at Stamford Bridge since 2002.

But will they be lining up with Sakho, Valencia or Caicedo up front?
