He’s done it! Frankie has hit 3,000 UK winners after a masterful front-running ride on Predilection at Newmarket and to celebrate the mammoth achievement we’ve put together a special commemorative video to mark the occasion.
Since landing his first UK success onboard Lizzy Hare at Goodwood the legendary Italian jockey hasn’t looked back with his list of honours the envy of the weighing room.
And some 29 years later the Ladbrokes brand ambassador is still at the top of his game. Quite simply, you could write reams about Frankie’s glittering career but this tribute sums it up best…
So, what next for the World’s Best Jockey?
Speaking to Ladbrokes News earlier in the season, Frankie said: “I’m currently sixth on the all-time winning jockey list and after the 3,000 I want to surpass Doug Smith’s 3,112 winners and get to number five!
“I’m not going to set a number on what age I’ll retire. I’m still pretty fit and I’ll get to 50-years-old and still be riding, no problem.
“Ultimately, if you want it then the targets are still there. I’ve still got the hunger to push myself and achieve new goals.”
Goodwill messages have been pouring in for our man with #Frankie3000 lighting up as a result of the affection and high regard sports fans have and hold for Dettori.
And echoing his adoring public, we’ve got a message for Frankie from Ladbrokes CEO, Jim Mullen.
