Seven things to look out for on this summer’s Deadline Day

Published:

Tomorrow plays host to arguably one of the most hotly-anticipated days in the football calendar. Forget the opening day of the season, forget the Champions League final. We’re talking about Transfer Deadline Day!

And in preparation, we’ve compiled a list of seven things to look out for tomorrow.

So, what made our list? Will Saido Berahino’s Twitter account be active at all? Will we see a record number of sickies in the country? Or will Arsene Wenger complain that he’s got no money left? Find out below!

Yellow Ties

If you’re a fan of Deadline Day, you’ll be ironing your yellow tie tonight in preparation for its biannual appearance tomorrow. The Ladbrokes News team are itching to get theirs on for their busiest day of the year!

Harry Redknapp to conduct an interview from his car

Granted, he’s not managing a club at the minute and thus this has been Redknapp’s quietest summer for years. But that won’t stop him having his say on proceedings from a car park somewhere in the country…

And while we’re on the subject of car parks…

Peter Odemwingie’s car to be spotted in at least one Premier League car park

Failing that, we hear he has a reserved spot at Loftus Road ready and waiting for him. Let it go, Pete.

David Moyes to sign ANOTHER one of his former players

Keep your phone on standby, Tony Hibbert. There’s a shirt in Sunderland with your name on it…

At least one club to miss out on a big name because of a dodgy fax machine

We’re sorry, but whoever is the unfortunate club to miss out on a player due to the deadline passing this year only has themselves to blame.

You’ve only had, what, two months to strike a deal?

And besides – who uses fax machines anymore?!

Hull to carry on spending

They may have to name a new manager first, but expect the KCOM Stadium to be a very busy place tomorrow. The Tigers have been almost non-existent so far in the transfer window but have today added David Marshall and Ryan Mason as their two-day rebuilding project begins.

And last but not least…

Jim White to call in sick

Come on – do you really think this is likely to happen?

Not even Jim White’s wedding could keep Jim White away from our screens on football’s answer to Christmas Day.
