Matt Holt: Hazard and co. headline in this Saturday’s 40/1 acca

Published:

We were very unlucky not to land a 55/1 shot last week, as the bigger priced outsiders landed comfortably but what looked like ‘sure things’ in Leicester (v Hull) and Newcastle (v Huddersfield) let us down.

I’m back with a slightly shorter 40/1 acca for you this week, and once again I’m selecting a five-fold to take advantage of Ladbrokes’ superb Acca Insurance offer…

Place a 5+ Team Accumulator and get MONEY BACK as free bet if one team lets you down!*

Money Back as a free bet up to £25. Applies to selected matches and leagues. See Terms and Conditions for full details.

So, it really doesn’t make sense to back your acca anywhere else.

Here we go…

Liverpool to beat Burnley

Jurgen Klopp seems to have his Liverpool side in top gear going forward at the moment, and if they can score four goals against Arsenal then I really worry for Burnley’s backline.

The quality in Liverpool’s attack is undoubted and despite the fact they’ll probably ship a goal due to Alberto Moreno starting at left-back, I can see them outscoring Sean Dyche’s side. 4/7 is a nice price to boost any accumulator.

Chelsea to beat Watford

I was really impressed by both Chelsea and Watford on the opening day of the season, but I think the likes of Hazard and Costa will give the Blues that little bit of quality needed to edge the win.

Watford were solid at home towards the back end of last season, losing just two of their last eight games, but at 8/11 it’s difficult to ignore Chelsea with all of their stars seemingly hitting form this year.

Everton to beat West Brom

Yep, I’m betting against West Brom. A Tony Pulis side. At home. Against a team who drastically underwhelmed last season.

Why? Because I believe Ronald Koeman is going to get a totally different level of performances out of what I see as a very talented set of players.

You can talk about discipline, organisation, defensive solidity and whatever else as much as you like, but 8/5 is a huge price when one side just has far more quality than the other. Everton to win, for me.

Brentford to beat Rotherham

On to the Championship now, where Brentford take on struggling Rotherham. The Millers have picked up just one point from their first three games, whereas Brentford, who I have previously tipped to challenge for a play-off position, have won two of their opening three.

Rotherham love low scoring draws at home but I think Brentford, who have won four of their last six Championship away games and scored 16 goals in the process, will break them down.

Newcastle to beat Bristol City

I’m putting my head on the block yet again and saying Newcastle will win at a very generous 13/10.

They may have cost me an accumulator win last week, and Bristol City may have started the season strongly, but I’m going to stick by my guns and say Newcastle just have far too much quality for the Championship.

If they turn up and play to their full ability, they win at a canter.
