Latest James Bond Betting: The name’s Bell, Jamie Bell

Star of BIlly Elliot Jamie Bell has entered the frame as a serious contender to become the next James Bond with our traders making the race to become the new 007 a wide open market.

The 30-year-old certainly has the required attributes to step into Daniel Craig’s shoes but was previously chalked up as a 33/1 outsider.

However, a flood of bets over the last 48 hours have seen Bell’s odds tumble to just 8/1, meaning the bookies think he now has as good a chance as once-long-time-favourite Idris Elba to be given the nod by 007 bosses.

Poldark’s Aidan Turner remains the joint favourite at 2/1 alongside Jack Huston, and there’s 9/4 on offer for James Norton to be handed the famous role.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Bond betting is still wide open, but right now it’s Jamie Bell who’s being backed to swap ballet for baddies.”
