Ladbrokes SPFL: Raith Rovers to make it three wins from three

Published:

The new Ladbrokes SPFL campaign is already in full swing, and this weekend promises to produce more exciting action up and down the land.

A host of sides are looking to maintain perfect records, while some have the opposite problem and are still searching for their first point of the campaign.

It’s still very much early days, but here’s how we see things playing out this weekend…

Ladbrokes Championship

Raith will be looking to grab three wins from three when they host Dunfermline. With a defence that has conceded just once so far, Rovers are evens to beat a Pars side who lost their previous away game.

Hibernian head to St Mirren, and with both teams scoring in each of these sides’ matches this season, it’s 13/20 each keeper is beaten once more.

After their fine campaign last season, Falkirk are yet to win in 2016-17. They head to an unbeaten Queen of the South and with both sides 29/20, perhaps the draw is wise at 13/5.

After going unbeaten versus Dumbarton in their four clashes last year, Morton are 8/11 favourites when the sides meet again at Cappielow.

And Dundee United will fancy getting their first win of the year at 1/3 when they host an Ayr side who have already conceded six goals.

Ladbrokes League 1

Having scored and conceded over 20 goals between them already, we’re going over 3.5 at 7/5 when Airdrieonians host Stranraer.

Meanwhile, Alloa have flown out of the blocks, scoring nine times. East Fife have enjoyed a solid start too, but on home ground it could be worth backing Athletic -1 at 7/5.

Alongside Livingston and Alloa, Brechin have won two from two. City host newly promoted Queen’s Park, and the stats point us toward a home win and both teams to score at 5/2.

Livi have gone toe-to-toe with Alloa in the scoring game, also bagging nine. The Sons might get a few more too when they host a Stenhousemuir side without a point. Livi are 23/20 -1 on the handicap.

Finally in League 1, Peterhead and Albion look to grab their first win of the year. The Blue Toon haven’t registered a goal yet, but with 11 scored in the two Balmoor meetings last term, over 3.5 is 27/20.

Ladbrokes League 2

Elgin sit top of the pile after two games, but having played the sides sitting ninth and tenth, unbeaten Arbroath could provide a sterner challenge. A draw is 14/5.

After taking three wins and a draw against them last term, Barry Ferguson’s unbeaten Clyde are 5/4 to beat Annan yet again.

Berwick versus Forfar looks set to be a close contest, with both teams yet to lose. It’s a tough one to call and we’re going with the draw at 11/4.

Lastly, the bottom four all play each other. Stirling are 8/11 to beat Montrose, having won 1-0 and 7-0 in the fixture last term, while new boys Edinburgh City are 18/5 to grab their first Ladbrokes League 2 point away at ninth-placed Cowdenbeath.
