Ladbrokes Premiership: Back Dundee for dramatic away victory

Published:

There were goals galore in the Ladbrokes Premiership last weekend, with the net bulging 22 times over the course of six superb games. And we’re backing the delight to continue for several of last week’s winners.

The stats suggest Dundee and Rangers could deliver a late blow to their opponents, while Heart of Midlothian’s trip to Partick Thistle looks set to produce a flurry of goals. Here are our tips ahead of the weekend’s action.

Motherwell v Dundee

Mark McGhee’s men have lost their last two Ladbrokes Premiership games despite taking the lead in both, while Dundee have already produced a win from behind this season – in their meeting with Dumbarton.

With the Dark Blues having also scored the last goal in five of their last six outings, backing Paul Hartley’s men to come back from behind and win could be a fantastic selection.

Best Bet: Dundee to come from behind and win @ 12/1

Partick Thistle v Hearts

This one looks certain to produce goals, with four of Thistle’s last six games seeing both teams score, while the Jam Tarts have netted nine times in their last five outings.

After an imperious 5-1 battering of Inverness Caledonian Thistle last weekend, we’re backing Hearts to inflict a third successive defeat on Alan Archibald’s men – though we reckon the hosts will find the net in the process.

Best Bet: Hearts to win and BTTS @ 7/2

Inverness v St Johnstone

The Saints had plenty of joy in this fixture last season, notching up seven points from their three meetings with the Highland outfit, and with Tommy Wright’s side in by far the better form of the two ahead of this clash, it appears that good run is set to continue.

Saints won 1-0 on their last visit to Tulloch Caledonian Stadium, but with Inverness having shipped nine goals in their first three league games of the campaign, back the Perth outfit to go one better in the Ladbrokes Premiership this weekend.

Best Bet: St Johnstone to win 2-0 @ 11/1

Celtic v Aberdeen

Despite battling the Hoops for the Ladbrokes Premiership title in the last two seasons, the Dons have continued to struggle on their visits to Celtic Park, having failed to win a league game here since October 2004.

Meanwhile, Celtic are really finding their feet under Brendan Rodgers, winning all three home games domestically and in Europe and grabbing 12 goals in the process.

And one of their main threats has been Moussa Dembele, with the French striker already finding the net four times this season – all at Parkhead.

Best Bet: Celtic to win and Dembele to score @ 19/10

Kilmarnock v Rangers

As with Dundee, the Gers have battled back impressively from behind in the early weeks of this season, turning around deficits against Hamilton Academical and Motherwell to grab vital results.

And if Killie do take an early lead here, chances are they’ll squander it having shipped three goals in the last half-hour of matches already this season, with their only clean sheet in the last seven games coming against Albion Rovers.

Best Bet: Rangers to come from behind and win @ 8/1

Hamilton v Ross County

August has been a month of contrasting fortunes so far for these two, and the gap between Accies and the Staggies is set to grow with a second-half special from the visitors this weekend.

The hosts have conceded five times in the second half of their last four games, while County have chalked up goals after the break in each of their last three outings. That means the best value here looks to be on County doing the damage in the second period.

Best Bet: HT: Draw / Full-time: Ross County @ 9/2
