Jeremy Corbyn 100/1 to front Virgin Trains ad after train-gate

Jeremy Corbyn is unlikely to be given a starring role in the next major advertising campaign of Virgin Trains, according to Ladbrokes.
Corbyn’s latest potential derailment to his Labour leadership came this week after a row erupted regarding his comments on ‘ram-packed’ trains, which he claims left him with no option but to sit on the floor.
Virgin Trains chief Richard Branson added flames to the fire following Corbyn’s complaints however, when his company revealed CCTV footage suggesting the Labour leader and his team walked through a carriage of empty seats.
And following the news that the Labour party leader has been caught out regarding his statement over train congestion during a train journey to Newcastle recently, the bookies have chalked up Corbyn at 100/1 to appear in Virgin Trains’ next advertising campaign.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “At 100/1 Corbyn’s odds equate to the same amount of empty seats available on the ram-packed train he complained about so much.”
Much like the railways themselves, nobody is quite sure who is right or wrong, but despite ‘train-gate’ as it has been dubbed, the Islington North MP is still heavy favourite at 1/8 to keep his leadership on track in September’s Labour election.
Challenger Owen Smith, who himself has had a dig at Corbyn this week via Twitter regarding train capacity, is 5/1 to win next month’s vote.
