It’s all about Arsenal on this summer’s Deadline Day eve

While the arrivals of La Liga duo Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez are set to be announced any minute now, there are a number of players who could be passing the incoming signings on the Emirates car park this afternoon as we approach the final 24 hours of this summer’s transfer window.
Mustafi and Perez would take manager Arsene Wenger’s total spend for this window close to £100m. Meanwhile, on the flip side the Gunners boss is also willing to allow Jack WIlshere, Calum Chambers and Serge Gnabry to leave the club – preferably in loan deals for the trio to secure game time.
Jack Wilshere is the focus of perhaps the biggest story of the day, with a temporary move away from the North London club looking increasingly likely.
The 24-year-old is finding it hard to break into Wenger’s starting lineup following a string of injuries which have seen the England star play in just 44.59 per cent of Arsenal’s league games since the beginning of the 2010-11 campaign.
However, the options for Wilshere appear endless, with a whole host of clubs ranging from West Ham to AC Milan reportedly interested in the midfielder, but it is the Hammers who are the 6/1 favourites to capture his signature as things stand.
Calum Chambers looks set to secure a season-long loan move to newly-promoted Middlesbrough, in a move which would allow new signing Mustafi a much simpler route to the first team.
The England international was thrown into Premier League life following his move to the Emirates in 2014, but has since struggled to hold down a first team place.
But given that Wenger spent £16m on the 21-year-old from Southampton just two years ago – it’s unlikely Chambers won’t feature in the French manager’s plans at some point in the future.
Serge Gnabry also looks set for a move away from the club where he has spent his entire career – bar a failed loan spell last campaign at West Bromwich Albion.
Similarly to both Chambers and Wilshere, breaking into the first team has been a real problem for Gnabry. Germany’s Olympic star hasn’t played a single minute of league football since 2014 for the Gunners.
But reports from Sky Germany this morning are suggesting the 21-year-old has attracted the attention of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, who are reportedly keen on signing Gnabry on a permanent deal and loaning him out to rivals Werder Bremen for the season.
It looks like this is going to be a busy two days for Wenger and – with or without Wilshere, Chambers and Gnabry – his side welcome Southampton to the Emirates after the international break, where the Gunners are 4/7 favourites to win their second successive game.
