Mark Warburton’s Rangers had to settle for a draw on the opening day of the 2016-17 Ladbrokes Premiership season with Hamilton Academical going on to secure a share of the spoils at Ibrox.
The top-flight new boys fell behind to a sublime first-half strike from Accies’ Ali Crawford but levelled things up when Martyn Waghorn equalised just after the hour mark.
Other notable highlights included Crawford nutmegging Gers’ Joey Barton on his Ladbrokes Premiership debut while Waghorn’s vicious free-kick hitting the post provided another moment of drama.
