Frankel filly to prove credentials for Guineas at Ebor Festival

The favourites obliged in the two big Group races on the opening day at York’s Ebor Festival, with Idaho landing the Great Voltigeur and Postponed passing the post first in the Juddmonte International.

Now over to day two.

Yesterday, Postponed was 6/4 in the morning before drifting to 15/8. For any customer taking the 6/4 or less we paid out at 2/1!

Since the start of May, over £2m and rising has been paid out on additional winnings!

Oh, and we’re also paying out 4 places on the 13:55 at York.

Here are three potentially lucrative bets for day two at York:

NAP – Fair Eva – 14:30

A pair of Frankel fillies line up in this Group 2 Lowther Stakes and based on results so far, Fair Eva should have the edge over Queen Kindly.

Like her sire, Fair Eva remains unbeaten in her two-start career, winning both by a comfortable four lengths. The latest in a Group 3 at Ascot was especially eye catching.

The current 7/2 favourite for the 2017 1,000 Guineas is also proven over 6f on fast ground.

Queen Kindly’s only blip came when third at Royal Ascot in the Albany Stakes, but both her victories have come over the minimum distance, so has something to prove here.

NB – Queen’s Trust – 15:40

Found is the understandable favourite and certainly the best horse in the race based on achievements so far.

However, there is a nagging doubt that 1m2f may be her best distance rather than this 1m4f, especially if they go an end-to-end gallop.

Fellow Aiden O’Brien inmate Seventh Heaven looks a danger, but there may well be more to come from Sir Michael Stoute’s Queen’s Trust.

Although winless this season, he was severely hampered on his first appearance, before finishing like a train on his sole start over this trip on soft ground when fourth.

Queen’s Trust run well on a firmer surface when second over 1m2f to superstar filly Minding last time and this first effort over 1m4f on fast going could bring considerable improvement.

Lively Longshot – Fanciful Angel – 15:05

If Jailawi wasn’t drawn in the car park for his second big handicap in a row here, Silvestre De Sousa’s mount would be a very lively longshot in the Clipper Logistics Stakes, but the wide draw is a big negative towards his chances.

The favourite Mustashry is another breaking from a wide stall in 17, alongside last year’s winner Chil The Kite in 19.

Fanciful Angel is an interesting entry, having done the majority of his recent racing at Group level to date.

He has been dropped 2lb for finishing down the field at Ascot last time, over an inadequate 7f. Meanwhile, the booking for 3lb claimer David Muscutt effectively makes him 5lb better off back over his favoured trip and with a nice draw down the middle of the track.
