Downbeat West Ham fan looks to cash in with #WhatAreTheOdds bet

Published:

After crashing out of the Europa League at the play-off stage to Astra Giurgiu for the second season in succession, West Hams’ campaign hasn’t got off to the best start.

So much so that one fan is looking to cash in on the Hammers’ misery continuing for a little while longer.

Our latest #WhatAreTheOdds request has seen one pessimistic supporter put his money where his mouth is on West Ham losing their next three Premier League games at 9/1.

Slaven Bilic’s side have only won two of their six competitive games so far – including Europa qualifiers – thanks in no small part to a horrendous injury list.

The Croatian manager is without a host of first-team players, including star man Dimitri Payet, Andy Carroll, Diafra Sakho, Manuel Lanzini, Aaron Cresswell plus summer signings Andre Ayew and Sofiana Feghouli.

All in all it’s a situation one Hammer really doesn’t think will see the east Londoners claim any points in their next trio of fixtures.

First up is certainly an unlikely place for a point, as Bilic’s men head to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

The Hammers may have won at the Etihad last season, but with so much first-teamers missing, plus City’s fine start to the new campaign, the bookies are sharing this downbeat fan with the visitors deemed a 9/1 shot.

It’s in the next two games however which could make or break West Ham’s campaign and this supporter’s bet.

Watford make their first trip to the Olympic stadium after the international break, with the Iron rounding off this three-game stint by heading to West Brom.

On paper the Hammers should be getting a point at least from those two fixtures.

But if they don’t, though things will look pretty bleak indeed for Bilic and his men, one supporter might have a smile on their face.
